Two groups of rats were fed equal quantities of an electrolyte-free diet which was supplemented with potassium by gavage. One group received aldosterone in sesame oil and the other the vehicle by daily injection. The excretion of potassium was not influenced by the administration of aldosterone. In addition, there was no effect on the filtration rate or tissue electrolyte composition.
