Experiments on the effects of handling of the thyroidectomized rat were performed. Handling resulted in significantly better maze learning ability, but had no effect on weight gain, food consumption or resistance to thiourea toxicity. The findings are compared with those previously obtained in the normal, hypophysectomized and adrenalectomized rat.
