Purified bovine prothrombin preparations were found to produce immune serum in rabbits. This immune serum possessed precipitating antibodies capable of specific reaction with these preparations. Prothrombin activity was removed coincidentally with specific precipitation. A second antigenic component was evident in these preparations. It is believed that these procedures demonstrated that bovine prothrombin possesses antigenic qualities.
